Readings for this all-age service (with brigades) are Acts 8:1a-3 and 9:1-9; the talk includes references to Galatians 1:13-14 and 1 Timothy 1:12-16 (and starts with a movie clip not included in this recording), while grace and mercy were illustrated by squashy decayed fruit from John Blake's garden. At the time of the talk, Islamic State (ISIL) extremists were threatening to behead hostages in Syria and Iraq, with propaganda videos posted on web sites.
