Introduction God’s heart for humanity: people to be in relationship with him - so vital, he sent his Son What should be 1st on our heart: same and to make it happen - are we being successful?

Five reasons to witness:

  1. Command Mk 16:15 Jesus last words “Go preach” (also Mt 28:19)
  2. Compelled 1 Cor 9:16 Paul was compelled by Spirit to preach Gospel
  3. Compassion Mt 9:36 Jesus preaching was motivated by lost people
  4. Comparison Ac 17:16 Jealous for God to get worship due not idols!
  5. Comprehend Phm 6 Be active in sharing faith so you understand it!

Ten reasons we don’t share our faith:

  1. Embarrassed to talk about it (God’s not embarrassed of you!)
  2. Don’t know how to (share your story or talk about weekend church)
  3. Don’t want to be pushy (God told you to tell them & best for them if you do)
  4. Too nervous or lack confidence (ask for Holy Spirit boldness)
  5. Too afraid of the consequences (persecution, lose friends, but who’s most important)
  6. Don’t feel it’s your gifting (Moses, Jeremiah, etc...all felt same, but did lots)
  7. Can’t really be bothered (how selfish...not optional!)
  8. I witness through lifestyle (great…but need words to explain it too!)
  9. Don’t feel good enough (the truth of gospel isn’t based on how you feel)
  10. They won’t be interested (2-3 million in UK would come church if invited!)

‘We’ve lived with the answers so long we’ve forgotten how powerful they really are’

Five things to help us witness:

  1. Try to read and learn the Bible more
  2. Pray and ask for the Holy Spirit’s help
  3. Services and events to invite them too
  4. Having a leaflet or invite to give them
  5. More encouraged if all the church do it

Five steps of the Roman Road:

  1. Rom 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
  2. Rom 6:23 The wages of sin is death...gift of God is eternal life
  3. Rom 5:8 God showed his love for us...while we were sinners Christ died for us
  4. Rom 10:9 Confess with mouth & believe in heart...will be saved
  5. Rom 10:13 Everyone who calls on name of the Lord will be saved

Three things to remember if rejected:

  1. Jesus didn’t say it was easy Lk 10:3 ‘I’m sending you out like lambs among wolves’
  2. They’re rejecting him not you Lk 10:16 ‘He who rejects you, is really rejecting me’
  3. Rejoice in your own salvation Lk 10:20 ‘Whatever happens, rejoice in own salvation’
