Phil Marsden (153 sermons)

Phil received his call to full-time ministry as a child and since the age of 19 has served with Youth For Christ, the Baptist Missionary Society and several large churches before taking up his present role as Ministry Team Leader at Central Baptist Church. Phil’s a visionary leader with a heart to share the good news of Jesus and to see the church grow.

Leesa McKay (137 sermons)

Leesa trained at Spurgeon's College and was ordained in April 2009. She served as an Associate Minister at Central Baptist betweeen 2010 and 2020. Before coming to Chelmsford in she was Associate Minister at Buckhurst Hill having previously been Director for Epping Forest Youth for Christ. Leesa was welcomed to fully accredited status at the Baptist Union Assembly in May 2013.

Paul Beasley-Murray (110 sermons)

Paul is the chairman of Ministry Today, as also the College of Baptist Ministers, and from 1993 – 2014 was Senior Minister of our church.

Martin Hills (57 sermons)

Martin was a minister at Central Baptist between 2006 and 2016. He was ordained in April 2009. Martin was a trainee youth minister at Central between 1997 and 2000, before leaving to join Essex Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service as Senior Outreach worker. In 2006 he rejoined the Ministry Team and trained at Ridley Hall, Cambridge.

Matt Rowe (24 sermons)

Matt was a minister in training at Central Baptist between 2011 and 2015.

Aaron Griffin (23 sermons)

Aaron is our Youth and Children's worker and is passionate about helping those inside and outside the church think about the big questions in life. He is convinced that the Bible is true, brilliant and essential for all generations. He has done 10 years as a youth minister in a previous church and over that time has completed the Cornhill Training Course and gained a Masters in Applied Theology.

Amanda Wilson (9 sermons)

Amanda Wilson is a secondary school English teacher.

Emma Nash (7 sermons)

Emma came to faith through Alpha, before training for ministry whilst working with us. Emma's passion is to make the Christian faith more accessible and understandable for people who don't go to church.

Nicholas Tuohy (7 sermons)

Nicholas worked as a professional chef for 10 years before studying theology and becoming an ordained Baptist minister. He was with us for a year as an Associate Minister, between 2009 and 2010.
